ReelScope collects the minimum data needed to operate: your email, account preferences, subscription/account status, feed interaction data used for content filtering and safety features, and — if you use the Tribe Feed — the reels you share with your Tribe or your Z Tribe, the comments and emoji reactions you post, and the Z Tribe invitations you send or accept. A Tribe organiser (parent or guardian, where applicable) can enable or disable the Z Tribe permission for any Tribe member they are responsible for at any time.
We process your data to provide the service (filtering, accounts and subscriptions), secure the platform and comply with legal obligations. Advertising-related processing in the mobile app and embedded services is described below.
The mobile app integrates Google AdMob to display ads. When ads are loaded, the SDK may collect and share with Google the IP address (which can estimate general location), device identifiers, app interactions and diagnostics for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Our ad requests are configured for non-personalized ads; this does not mean that no data is collected. Applicable consent choices are presented through the app’s Google consent flow, separately from the website banner.
Google advertising informationWhen you activate Live Browse and its filters, ReelScope may read elements made visible by the page you visit to provide the filtering you requested. Processed data may include post text, a public creator name or identifier, hashtags, a thumbnail, an image or content URL, the source platform, and the classification result. Some of these elements may be sent to our server and to our current content-classification provider, OpenAI, solely to produce the requested safety result, prevent abuse, and maintain safety blocklists. Passwords and authentication tokens entered on a third-party platform are not intended to be collected by ReelScope. ReelScope does not use Live Browse data to post, like, follow, or comment through your social account. Legal basis: performance of the filtering service you request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and consent where the law requires or the processing relies on it (Article 6(1)(a)), including applicable parental consent.
Players and pages embedded in ReelScope are supplied by the relevant platforms. They may receive your IP address, browser or device characteristics, referring page, cookie identifiers, and playback or interaction data for playback, security, measurement, or the platform's advertising. If you sign in to a third-party service in a web view, that service's session cookies may be stored on your device to maintain the session. Those activities are also governed by the third party's privacy policy. Where prior consent is legally required for non-essential trackers, ReelScope requests it and allows it to be withdrawn.
Login credentials are protected and data in transit is encrypted. We retain data only as long as needed for service operation, fraud/security prevention, subscription/account records, and legal compliance. Data is deleted or anonymized when no longer required, subject to mandatory retention periods.
Account data (email, name, preferences) — kept while your account is active. Erased within 30 days after account deletion.
Usage data (watch history, saved content, screen time, shared reels, Tribe member profiles, Tribe Feed comments and reactions, Z Tribe invitations) — kept while the account is active, deleted with the account. Either party may remove a Z Tribe connection at any time, which deletes the invitation record.
Accounting records and invoices (payments, subscriptions) — 10 years from end of the financial year, per French Commercial Code L123-22.
Proof of consent (acceptance of Terms, Privacy Policy, parental attestation) — duration of the contract + 3 years, for evidentiary purposes.
Error logs (Sentry) — 30 days. Server and anti-fraud logs — 12 months maximum.
Raw text, hashtags, thumbnail URLs, and similar elements sent only for a one-time classification are retained only for the time technically necessary to process the request and are not added to account history unless expressly stated. Aggregated safety results, such as blocked-content counters or blocklist signals, may be kept while necessary to provide and secure the service.
If you use the Tribe Feed, the reels you share, the comments and emoji reactions you post, and the Z Tribe invitations you send are visible only to the other members of your Tribe and your Z Tribe peers. This content is not public, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with third parties other than the sub-processors listed below. Comment text is automatically screened by our content safety provider before publication; flagged messages are blocked. You or your Z Tribe peer can remove the connection at any time; this deletes the invitation record and stops mutual visibility on both sides. You can delete your own comments at any time. A Tribe organiser (parent or guardian, where applicable) can disable a member's Z Tribe permission at any time, remove any comment posted by a member they are responsible for, and remove the member from the Tribe at any time.
Legal basis: performance of the paid contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) — Tribe Feed is a paid feature you actively use. For Tribe members under 15, processing is additionally based on the parental consent attested at member creation (Loi Informatique et Libertés Art. 7-1).
We use the following sub-processors to provide the service: Vercel (hosting, USA), Neon (PostgreSQL database, USA), Stripe (payments, USA), Resend (transactional email, USA), OpenAI (content classification, USA), Sentry (error tracking, EU), and Apify (public-data scraping, Czech Republic). Each operates under its own privacy policy.
Some of your data is processed outside the European Economic Area, primarily in the USA, by the sub-processors listed above. These transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the sub-processor is certified.
You can delete your account from the app. You may also request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding your personal data, and withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, by writing to us via our contact page. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
California residents have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to (i) know what personal information we hold about you, (ii) request deletion or correction, (iii) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, (iv) limit the use of sensitive personal information, and (v) not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Advertising-related processing is described above. To exercise any right, contact us via our contact page. We respond within 45 days.
Residents of other US states with applicable privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana) have similar rights: to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for targeted advertising. To exercise a right, contact info@reelscope.app.
In the event of a personal data breach likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the CNIL within 72 hours of becoming aware of it and, where the risk is high, will inform you without undue delay, in accordance with Articles 33 and 34 of the GDPR.
ReelScope is intended for users aged 13+ and for parents/guardians using Tribe supervision features. If you believe personal data of a person under 13 was provided directly without parent/guardian authorization, contact us via our contact page so we can review and remove it.
